King Consolidated | Permian Basin

The models, imagery and animation below was created for King Consolidated, Inc. King Consolidated is a company that specializes in acquiring and operating crude oil and natural gas properties. The focus of this presentation was on the Permian Basin in western Texas which is home to large oil and natural gas deposits. The animation would highlight the exploration of the previously mined Permian Basin sandstone deposits. New extraction techniques such as Fracing and more specifically King's horizontal exploration extraction techniques would be highlighted. Our visual approach was to go for a more visceral presentation than the normal scientific graphic approach that has been used in the past. We created our piece along the lines of a BBC episode. By showing the developing of the sand deposits all of the way through the perfing, fracing and extraction techniques used in the area we were able to create a dynamic animation. Very high end rendering methods coupled with extensive composting techniques garnered an impressive presentation. We also provided some graphs and charts to be utilized in the accompanying brochure for the project.
